Star Wars: Detours is the latest project from Robot Chicken creators Seth Green and Matt Senreich, who have also added children's animated show veteran Todd Grimes into the mix to make it look sillier and the least amount appealing for adults as possible. Don't get me wrong, I love the Robot Chicken Star Wars Specials, and these have a similar feel to it, but its pretty fuckin' goofy at this point, definitely geared towards an even younger crowd than what you'd find watching the excellent Clone Wars series. Buuuuut it's Star Wars people, and if I had a young child......who am I kidding, I'd probably make them watch The Clone Wars.
A trailer and three clips were released today via the Star Wars YouTube page, which also included this description:
Star Wars Detours™ is an animated comedy that explores what daily life is like in a galaxy far, far away. There are no Empires striking back or attacking clones here. Instead, Star Wars Detours focuses on the universe's regular folks and their everyday problems... which, to be fair, do frequently involve famous bounty hunters, crazed Ewoks, and even a Dark Lord of the Sith. Welcome to Star Wars: Detours: the other side of the stars, between the wars.
