Whoa, whoa, whoa. This is the greatest news I've heard in a long time. Disney has announced the acquisition of Lucasfilm LTD, which means they have the rights an insane amount of good properties. The deal was worth 4.5 billion in stock and cash.
By the way, if you're reading this and don't know what exactly Lucasfilm is. Let me give you a hint: STAR WARS MOTHERFUCKA! YES YES YES YES YES. A new Star Wars film, episode 7, which means it'll take place after Return of the Jedi, has already been announced for 2015, and it sounds like a lot more films after that. Think, 30 years in the future will we see Star Wars as a James Bond-type franchise?
But Star Wars wasn't the only exciting item, Disney now has Indiana Jones, which needs to redeem itself after the shitstorm known as the The Crystal Skulls, and two sentimental favorites, Willow and Howard the Duck.
LucasArts, the video game division of the company, was also included. They obviously have some great Star Wars games, including the upcoming Star Wars 1313, but they also are well regarded in the adventure games field. I'm hoping like hell for a Maniac Mansion HD re-release.
